<![CDATA[Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott gets congratulations from other players after his big new contract]]>Wed, 10 Mar 2021 17:28:33 GMThttp://alcoopervoices.com/blog/dallas-cowboys-qb-dak-prescott-gets-congratulations-from-other-players-after-his-big-new-contract
Dak Prescott is getting paid by the Dallas Cowboys.
The star quarterback reached a four-year, $160 million deal to stay with the Cowboys on Monday, a source told Adam Schefter, putting to rest months of speculation about where he would end up in the 2021 season. The contract has $126 million in guaranteed money, and Prescott received a $66 million signing bonus, which would be the most in NFL history. Though he is coming off a compound fracture and dislocation of his right ankle from a Week 5 win, Prescott, who will turn 28 in July, has been predicted to make a full recovery.

<![CDATA[Jeezy Reveals His Beloved Mother's Death in Emotional Tribute: 'You Taught Me to Be a Man']]>Thu, 18 Feb 2021 01:58:28 GMThttp://alcoopervoices.com/blog/jeezy-reveals-his-beloved-mothers-death-in-emotional-tribute-you-taught-me-to-be-a-man
Jeezy is mourning the loss of his mother. On Wednesday, the rap star, 43, penned a touching tribute to her as he revealed she had been laid to rest.
"You taught me to be a man when I was a boy," he began. "Made me man up [and] be a father when I was a kid. Raised me to be a natural born leader when I was lost. You lifted me when I was down. Inspired me when I had no inspiration. Always told me I was Bigger than my circumstances."

The star went on to call his mom his super hero, adding that she was a strong woman who "feared nothing or no one.. No obstacle or set backs."
Her cause of death is unclear, but in 2019, Jeezy told Hot New Hip Hop that she had been battling undisclosed health complications.

Jeezy also expressed his gratitude for his mom's love and support. "When I had nothing or no one, I had you Mamma," he wrote. "You was hard on me. I thank you for that. You gave me confidence when I didn't have any. Made me feel like I can put the world on my back and walk barefoot. You never judged or down talked my dreams. Or my downfalls. You just encouraged."

While paying tribute to his mom, he also shared his heartfelt sentiments for his late sibling. "Kiss my brother Michael," wrote the star. "Tell 'em we love him. And to take care of you. You are in a better place."

The massive sprawl of winter storm Uri put COVID-19 vaccinations on hold in nearly half of US states this week.
At least 22 had to delay or cancel vaccination appointments, Oregon health officials are quietly shuttling doses from storage facility to another and Kentucky paired each COVID-19 vaccine storage site with a generator.
And Harris County, Texas, ran into the nightmare scenario: the power went out at a hospital storing some 8,000 doses of Moderna’s vaccine.
Doses had to be quickly redistributed to nearby hospitals, universities and a prison before they spoiled.
Most of the precious shots were salvaged, but neither the storm nor the power outages are over for Texas and other states – and officials don’t even know how long the outages will continue.
With another storm rolling across the country hot on Uri’s heels, the weather threatens to ruin precious doses of vaccine and delay the rollout intended to finally bring the pandemic to an end.

<![CDATA[VIKINGS FANS ARE GOING TO WANT TO HEAR WHAT RANDY MOSS SAID ABOUT JUSTIN JEFFERSON]]>Wed, 16 Dec 2020 06:00:00 GMThttp://alcoopervoices.com/blog/vikings-fans-are-going-to-want-to-hear-what-randy-moss-said-about-justin-jefferson
Minnesota Vikings rookie wide receiver Justin Jefferson received some glowing praise from Hall-of-Famer Randy Moss.
At the start of the 2020 league year, Minnesota Vikings fans entered a state of panic after hearing the team had traded star receiver Stefon Diggs to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for an abundant draft package. Included in that deal was Buffalo’s 24th overall selection in this past year’s NFL Draft, and the Vikings used it on LSU wideout Justin Jefferson. Thirteen games in, he’s proven to be a superstar in the making. He’s gotten some huge praise thus far, but now he’s gotten some from a Vikings legend.

During an appearance on ESPN’s NFL Countdown, Hall-of-Fame wide receiver Randy Moss said that Jefferson is not only Rookie of the Year, but that he could join himself, Percy Harvin and Sammy White as the greatest receivers in Vikings history.

That’s some glowing praise from the Vikings legend. You have to believe Jefferson has a huge smile on his face after hearing Moss’ comments.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – When Los Angeles Lakers assistant coach Phil Handy noticed LeBron James reflecting on his road to a 10th NBA Finals shortly after the Lakers advanced Saturday night, he began to think about his own journey.
“I was standing not too far from ’Bron when he was sitting on the floor,” Handy told The Undefeated on Sunday afternoon. “We had our journey, but I identified with what he was feeling. For me, personally, I was kind of numb on Saturday night thinking about the journey. That really hit me probably more than any other time up to this point. I have no words for it. I get chills. I get a little bit emotional.”
